Belief in evolution boils down to a gut feeling – Technology & science – Science – LiveScience – msnbc.com:
It takes a lot of faith to believe in spontaneous undirected evolution, both physical and biological, and most especially spontaneous abiogenesis.
After all, a digitized memory and logic system that beats every sophisticated computing system that all of mankind’s engineers have been able to come up with, more complex than the Internet, with feedback systems, self-reproductive and everything else, is a thing of awe even for the skeptics who think it all just grew out of the mud. Or something.
“Gut feeling” is right, but gut feelings are so deceiving, as some of the smarter-than-thou crowd like to point out about believers. But Bible believers have known this for like, forever:
The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it? – Jeremiah 17:9
Of course as happens in the case of strong deceit, the deceived are convinced it is the believer who is under strong delusion:
2 Thessalonians 2:10: And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
Even the abiogenesis believers have a hard time with life springing from non-life and they know that it is such a testimony against Darwinism that they are now trying to decouple it from Darwinian evolution and claiming it has nothing to do with the issue.
Well, then, they lost the argument there. Because in every book on evolution, they always talk about how it started without design. This is completely ON PURE FAITH, based on superstitious whim.
Because the alternative is to admit there might be a higher power over them.
At least the pantheistic New Agers are more reasonable, realizing that there is too much organization and order in the universe for it to be random spontaneity.
